Compost Pit in Amparu

On February 18th, the Ecoteam conducted an Awareness-Day at Amparu High School. Throughout the day, the team (supervised by FSL-Coordinator Basavaraj) cleared out the school's waste burning pit and replaced it with a compost facility.

Afterwards the team proceeded with teaching the children about which things actually are biodegradable and which items can be thrown into the pit without setting its usability at risk. These include, for instance, food scraps, garden waste and small amounts of paper. The team went into each of the classes and finished the day with a bunch of energizers in which around 80 students participated. The day was a great success for FSL's Eco-Division.
