On November 29th, the Ecoteam (Basavaraj, Ferdinand and Paul) joined the Gangolli Panchayat at a Govt. School in Gangolli. The team spoke about the dangers of plastic, introduced innovative ways to combat the continous spread of the use plastic bags and emphasized the importance of recycling systems when dealing with artificial resources. The team also spread awareness among a local self help group and presented the audience with a few early results of the extensive Gangolli Waste Management Survey (also refer to our previous post).
The cotton bags, which members of the Sea Turtle Conservation Project brought along, were quickly sold out. Another tremendous success for the Environmental Education and Eco Clubs projects!
