Flora and fauna Club Skit and quiz event

Flora and Fauna club, Dr. N. R Acharya Memorial Trust celebrated and organised event called as Neeru 2013(water -2013). For this event they invited more than 25 high schools Eco-club students, Teachers , Eduction department . This event held on 30 November 2013, in Hari Prasad Hotel Hall. FSL India staff and international volunteers also invited and we took part in the event.

Program begins with presentation by chief guest Mr. Richard Rebello, he is a retired college lecturer and now he is doing water research work with water conservation theme. In his plot he already adopted some methodology of water conservation like Rain water harvesting, farm pond and organic way of cultivation. With his knowledge and research his speech carried out. It was informative speech for all Eco-club student and us. 

He said that in this world 97% water is salty in the form of ocean, 2% water in the form of ice in north and south poll and only 1% of water available for Human and Animal consumption. Nowadays people are wasting water with out caring. Also most of the people didn't use any methodology for water conservation. That's why, Kundapur people or other city people in India, have a problem of drinking water and for agriculture facing lack of water in many place. He appealed all for the water conservation and to stop wasting of water.

 

After the presentation, conduct quiz competition and Skit competition. In Quiz competition all 25 high school student participated. The question are more related to water. Mean while skit competition took over, In this competition only 9 high schools student took part. Here we guide them, they have 5 minutes to present their skit, with theme called Water. In skit competition children come out good information and acting. With their presentation of skit we can guess they understand the concept of conservation of water.

As a FSL India team member also presented half an hour skit called “Neeru Jeeva Srushtiya Moola”. Here we presented how we are wasting the water in every day routine life and not aware about this and how we can reduce and save water. In this Skit international volunteers and staff actively took part and enacted well their roles. Here we focus mainly, how we are wasting water while brushing,shewing, dish washing , cloth washing, bathing, water pollution, ignoring leakage of water, desertification, bore-well in the city and fighting for water in some city. For all this problem we instructed suitable guide line to audience, this way we ended with our skit. After skit many school teacher and student requested us to have Eco-session in their school. Its was good impact we seen. Also we received honoured momentum and certificate from flora and fauna club President.

Finally prize distribution of Drawing, Essay, Skit and quiz competition winner students took place. Through annual report and performance of the Eco Club schools flora and fauna club selected First prize to Nisarga Eco-club Kedur, 2nd prize goes to Bhoomi Eco-club Vederahobli and 3rd prize goes to Vasundara Eco-club Gujadi, it was wonderful moment for student, teacher and us.

It was around 250 peoples gathering. From FSL India Mr.Vijay Kumar, Mr. Austin, Mr. Manju, Ms. Manjula, Ms Prema, Ms. Pushpa, Ms. Nagaratna, Ms. Romy, Ms. Lina, Ms. Gamma, and Mr. Mortiz. From Education department Mr. Goppal shetty (BEO) and Mr. Udaya Goukar were present. Finally we thank to Dr. Malli, who is very active person in flora and fauna club, all the years he involve us and he give good support for our all program and we thank flora and fauna club all the members for give us wonderful chance.
