Matadu - 2013 Educational winter camp for Kumbhashi Koraga community children

 Held Educational winter camp at Kumbhashi for Koraga Community children to enhance raise awareness about their Environment, creativity, art, skill of participation & the places located in Udupi district Kundapur taluk. Camp was held 9 session from 15th October to 25th October - 2013, 30 children were benefited from this camp. With a high level of creativity the Volunteers planned the different session based on HBP guidance.

During the camp different sessions about Environmental education, did handicrafts with the children of different ages, paper craft, paper bag making, star making from paper, mask making, We also taught the children about basic geographical knowledge and the volunteers presented about their home country such as Great Britain, Germany, Russia and Spain, it helps children to get to know about other countries governance, culture, education system, historical places, monuments and about public.

The Eco Team did several team games and explained the children, with the help of a tom and Jerry cartoon, that it does not matter how small, poor or unimportant you are, with the help of your knowledge you can achieve every goal as like the small mouse Jerry can beat the big cat Tom, entertainment deprived kids watches this with lot of curiosity and satisfied with it, We did a drawing competition and in the end some beautiful pictures were drawn by the children and distributed prizes to the children, Sea-turtle puppet role play enacted with song about sea-turtle conservation by HBP team and we explained to the children about importance of Sea turtles in our ecosystem and one role play enacted by children on pollution, protection and Dropouts with our guidance and lot of games and energizers. The camp helped to improve the skills of children and motivated them towards education & Environment and improved their participation ability in the camp.

The session conducted by HBP team such as Tent school, Sea-turtle , Environmental Education and Eco-club volunteers Ms. Katharina, Ms. Amanda, Ms. Romy, Mr. Moritz, Ms. Annalina, Ms. Gemma and FSL’s HBP staffs Mr. Austin, Ms. Shalini, Ms. Manjula were been part of this camp, children enjoyed while being with international volunteers and mingling and having interaction with them , volunteers and staff enjoyed the camp and at the end FSL thanked by the organizers of camp Mr. V. Ganesh (Koraga Community leader).
