Environmental education sessions at Anjuman primary school Kundapur

From 24th of June to 2nd of July 2013, Eco Team conducted 7 sessions in Anjuman Primary School. We were in charge of a class combined 6th and 7th standard, in total 34 children are participated. During 1 hour each day, we gave a session to the student explaining about Environmental issues like renewable and non renewable resources, importance recycling, danger of Climate Change and Global Warming. We also tried to make prevention about plastic, the scarcity of fossils fuels and we finished by explaining what is the carbon footprint and also we gave some ideas to reduce our carbon footprint in our everyday life.

During the session children were very interested and remembered very well what we taught earlier. All children wanted to participate and give answers and show that they are remember what we did and they have some knowledge about some topics. We also made an evaluation through asking questions like “What you learn during our sessions?”, “What you will do in the future with this knowledge?”, “What was the most important session for you?”, “What we can do better in future sessions?” For the 6th session we ask to the children questions to know what they learn, what was good, and how we could improve our session.

 Distribution of pens to children
For the last session we offer to each student a pen to show our gratefulness and say thank you to the children for their participation and attention. The feedback was very interesting, we saw that children really appreciated sessions, and remember many things, moreover some of them gave good ideas to improve our action, but that we have already created, such as Tent school project. It was really another good day for the Eco-team and it's action.
