Summer Camp at Vaderhobli Primary School

From Monday, the 13th of May, until Wednesday, the 15th of May, the Ecoteam consisting of Paul and Ferdinand along with Franzi and Austin, Manjunath and Manjula FSL staff members successfully conducted a summer camp at the Vaderhobli Primary School situated in Kundapur.

During the camp, we dealt with several environmental issues such as ecosystems, waste segregation and climate change. To implement this basic knowledge, we assisted the children with performing different activities such as cleaning the school grounds and establishing a waste segregation system at their school.

Our field trip to the mangrove forest
Furthermore, the Ecoteam also prepared some special events for the students: We conducted a field trip to a nearby mangrove forest which is situated in the backwaters of Kundapur to observe this unique and fragile ecosystem. Afterwards, the children were provided with a lot of additional information on this topic.

Moreover, we also organised a final award ceremony which was intended to announce and reward the winners of the drawing competition we had conducted before. This festivity took place on the last day of the camp, thus it also served to reward all the students for their participation: Each student received an ecofriendly cotton bag designed by FSL containing a group picture with all the children.
